Artist's Biography

Nam Tran’s latest series consists of unique sculptures hand-made by the artist. Inspired by childhood memories of toys and cartoons, Tran has taken inspiration from these objects to create sculptures. Through his years of experience, Tran experiments with wheel thrown raku and alternative firing techniques to create unique objects. His craftsmanship has led him to hold numerous gallery exhibitions throughout the world.

Tran attended Central Saint Martins for his bachelor’s degree, specialising in ceramics. He later enrolled at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London to study sculpture. Tran has also held teaching positions at University College London and runs several studios in London. In 2017 he featured in the 'Great Pottery Throwdown' on the BBC.
