Artist's Biography

British-Vietnamese artist Nam Tran’s hand-made sculptures are inspired by his childhood memories of toys, cartoons and popular culture. Throughout his years of experience, Tran experiments with wheel thrown raku and alternative firing techniques to create unique objects. His craftsmanship has led him to hold numerous gallery exhibitions throughout the world.

Tran attended Central Saint Martins for his bachelor’s degree, specialising in ceramics. He later enrolled at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London to study sculpture. Tran has also held teaching positions at University College London and runs several studios in London. In 2017 he featured in the 'Great Pottery Throwdown' on the BBC.
