Description
This work is an fine example of the Avigdor’s abstract work, which the artist completed following his training at the École des Beaux-Arts. While living and working in Paris, the Jewish-Israeli artist became friends with iconic intellectuals, such as Samuel Beckett. His experiments in this mode of avant-garde painting only lasted for a brief period, making works in this style particularly rare and desirable. Recognised globally as a truly inspiring and intriguing artistic figure, today Avigdor’s work is housed in collections such as The Met, New York and National Galleries Scotland.
